Direct Trade Coffee Coordinator 2011

Global Visionaries sells coffee bought directly from Cafe Esperanza, a small, youth-run coffee business in Guatemala. The Direct Trade Coffee Intern will help to support our coffee sales. This involves coordinating with our partners in Guatemala for orders, tracking stock, and assisting students in the selling of GV coffee at markets around Seattle. Responsibilities include: assist with coffee order placement with Cafe Esperanza in Guatemala; communication with the Guatemalan co-op; supervision of inventory and distribution of coffee; support students in their fundraising goals; explore direct trade marketing in local markets.
This position requires a commitment of 10+ hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. The schedule is flexible, some office hours are required. This is an unpaid position.
Desired Qualifications
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Experience working with high school students
- Passion and interest for service in our local community
- A background in marketing or business is a plus
- Knowledge of Spanish is helpful
