Emma Shull, Long Term Volunteer

Emma Shull started her relationship with Global Visionaries in her junior year of high school as a participant in the 2007 Leadership Program and went to Guatemala with GV that summer. In her senior year Emma continued to volunteer with Global Visionaries as an Anti Oppression Facilitator on Youth Board. After Emma’s trip to Guatemala and her experience as a facilitator she was inspired to continue volunteering with GV as a Long Term Volunteer. Emma graduated in 2008 and is taking a year off between high school and college to volunteer for 6 months in Seattle as preparation for volunteering the next 6 months in Guatemala. During her time in Guatemala she will be working to support GV and student groups like the one she was a part of in the summer of 2007. By becoming a Long Term Volunteer she is helping GV achieve its goal of being led by youth. She wants to pave the way for future Long Term Volunteer participants as well as helping to make current GV participants’ experiences as great as hers was.
