Mario Flores, Country Coordinator
 Mario Flores joined Global Visionaries in 2006 as a Country Coordinator. After studying Agronomics Agriculture at Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, where he is in his last year of studies, he got started in environmental restoration as an International Crew Member for EarthCorps, a Seattle-based NGO. This launched his passion for environmental restoration work, social justice and environmental education. He continued with EarthCorps as an International Crew Leader, and later he spent one more year as an EarthCorps Outreach Intern. After successfully accomplishing his training in Seattle, he went back to Guatemala, where he set up and managed an Eco-service learning project. This project brought 35 international volunteers from the US, Mexico, and Argentina, to restore a trail and the surrounding areas of a natural park and build a native plant tree nursery facility. A true Guatemalan, born and raised, he understands how important it is to get the communities involved in social and environmental justices projects. Now he is excited to be working at GV using his leadership and management skills, knowledge of restoration, experience in environmental education and community outreach to help make Global Visionaries a success! |
