The seventh annual Global Visionaries Auction is Saturday May 3, 2008 at the Brockey Conference Center at South Seattle Community College. We request your support in the form of a donation.

For this year's auction, we want to raise $100,000 to reach these goals:

• Provide scholarships to 32 low-income, Seattle-area students to participate in the Global Visionaries' leadership program and service trip.
• Build a school and complete two reforestation projects in Pastores, Guatemala and homes for 5 Guatemalan families.
• Support our local leadership training and community service program for GV participants.

In 1997, two brothers, both teachers, saw a need to get students out of the classroom and into the world. Global Visionaries (GV) has worked directly with over 500 high school youth of diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds. A highlight of the year long Leadership Program is the extraordinary international educational trip to Guatemala involving language and cultural immersion, and volunteer work. Global Visionaries provides youth a global perspective empowering them to understand the intrinsic relationships between local and international social and environmental justice issues and volunteer work. Participants serve Seattle by volunteering in environmental and social justice projects with partner organizations including Global Partnerships and EarthCorps. GV participants become globally-minded citizens with a lifelong commitment to local community service.
